Hebrew school was fine when you were 10. Ready for an adult look at Judaism?
The Grad Network, the Collaborative, and Birthright Israel NEXT are proud to team up to offer sessions just for the 20s and 30s crowd two Tuesday nights a month. There will be a relevant, informal, Jewish topic each night and plenty of time for schmoozing afterwards over drinks and a snack.
This week's topic:
The Israeli Alternative: The Most Awesome Israeli Music You've Never Heard,
with Adam Oded
Israel music is as diverse as its people. From the 1960s until today Israeli artists have drawn on musical influence from around the world. Listen to some of the best and most exciting music coming out of Israel today. Genres include samba, dub reggae, funk, chillout and music that defies categorization.
Adam Oded is the director of Birthright Israel NEXT in Philadelphia. He has over 15 years of experience in Informal Jewish Education and has spoken about Jewish history in high schools, colleges and the back of Birthright Israel buses. In his spare time, Adam is a professional DJ who specializes in Israeli music. He recently had a two hour special on Y-Rock about Israeli Music. He's also really eager to meet alumni of Birthright Israel and take them out for coffee. Email him at adam.oded@birthrightisrael.org.
