Our salon/Shabbat dinner series continues, with food, articles, and conversation all guaranteed to fulfill the promise of "making Jews talk more!"
This month, we're partnering with the One Book, One Jewish Community program to look at an excerpt from "My Father's Paradise" by Ariel Sabar.
Dinner will be a vegetarian potluck, so when you RSVP, please indicate in the comments section what you plan to bring. We need everything from wine and challah to main dishes and dessert!
Because this excerpt is not online, there's no advanced reading - we'll read it together before we start the discussion. If you'd like a copy of the book, they are available at the very discounted price of $11! Email info@jewishgrads.org to order.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
About the book: A mysterious and forgotten corner of Iraq. An ancient language and a tribe of mystics, traders, and storytellers. A vanished history. And a son's epic journey back to his father's lost homeland.
