Our salon/Shabbat dinner series continues, with food, articles, and conversation all guaranteed to fulfill the promise of "making Jews talk more!"
We're going to be looking at an excerpt from Amos Oz's "A Tale of Love and Darkness," which describes the salons Oz's family hosted in Eastern Europe during his childhood. Come prepared to discuss the nature of Jewish salons, what sorts of ideas we hope to inspire through our conversations, and the value of critical discussion.
Kosher vegetarian dinner will be provided. When you RSVP, please include in the comments section if you can bring one of the following: challah, wine, fruit, non-alcoholic beverages, or dessert. You'll get an email back confirming your contribution and letting you know the location. Also, because this excerpt is not online, when you RSVP, we'll email you the reading as well.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
