Join us for another semester series of Topics on Tap! Each Monday night from February 27-April 2, we'll take an innovative look at a different Jewish topic around the theme of "Men and Women," presented by talented educators from across Philly.
No prior knowledge required. Grab a drink and enjoy great learning and discussion!
Please take note, we're at a new venue this year! (But good news, The Black Sheep has food if you want to eat!)
This week's topic:
All of Jewish History From The First Man to Today in One Hour
with Rabbi Jonathan Porath
Co-sponsored by The Grad Network, The Collaborative, and Moishe House Philadelphia
Rabbi Jonathan Porath is an inspiring speaker and educator who makes Jewish texts come alive and teaches Torah and Jewish values with passion. He helps his audiences delve into their own Jewish feelings and experiences. He received his B.A. from Brandeis University, his M.A. from Columbia University, and was ordained Rabbi by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. He served as a Hillel and congregational Rabbi before making aliyah with his family to Israel in 1984. He was on the faculty of the Wexner Heritage Foundation for many years. He specializes in conveying Jewish pride and passion; he always speaks from the heart and inspires. He comes by it naturally: he is the 18th generation of rabbis in his family.
