Want to attend Shabbat morning services but not sure where to go? Nervous about walking into an unfamiliar service? Worried you won't know anyone?
Join us for this semester's first event in our Shabbat Hop series!
Once each month, we'll visit a different area synagogue as a group to experience their Shabbat morning services.
This month, join us at Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel for services. Lunch will be at a nearby home following services. All are welcome to join us at services, but RSVP IS REQUIRED FOR LUNCH BY FRIDAY AT NOON.
What to expect: BZBI Shabbat morning services are traditional and egalitarian, using the Conservative Sim Shalom siddur (prayer book). There is a full Torah reading, a sermon given by Rabbi Stone, and lots of singing led by Cantor Grainer. Following services, there is a kiddush upstairs from where services are held. The community is very inter-generational and welcoming.
Shabbat Hop dates for the fall semester:
October 18: Kol Tzedek West Philadelphia Synagogue
October 25: Mekor Habracha/Center City Synagogue
November 8: Society Hill Synagogue
December 5: Rodeph Shalom (note: this is a Friday night)
